Libertarians choose Lawyer Barr as Presidential Candidate: Choice leaves a bad taste in the mouths of many libertarians
The libertarians choose former U.S. attorney, Bob Barr, as their presidential candidate at the national convention today in Denver. As the results were displayed on the convention floor there were strong boos heard among from the anti-Barr contingent.
While Barr was making his acceptance speech, Jim Davidson was organizing a “Boston tea Party” where delegates would choose an alternative presidential candidate. Within minutes Davidson had printed several hundred flyers and was distributing them to the delegates. When I asked delegates about their plans to attend the event the vast majority said they would attend the event. The event is set for tonight (May, 25th, 2008) at 6:30 PM and the Buckhorn Exchange restaurant at 1000 Osage Street in Denver. The flyer says, “Serious, radical, libertarians only.”
BELOW: Comedian Andy Andrist (www.andyandrist.com) passes around shots of Scope so the delegates can “wash the bad taste out of their mouths.”
